Happenings . . .

I should really be better about updating I seem to wait until I have an adequate amount of things to talk about and then I get sidetracked and it all just adds up to a million things!!

Let’s start with two weeks ago I spent my entire day on a beautiful Saturday stuck in bed dying. I say dying because my stomach hurt, I was throwing up, my entire body was sore and I even had a headache on top of it all. Just my luck I caught some kind of horrible virus that was going around the school all week. It was miserable and I never get sick so when I do all I want to do is lay around and do nothing. Luckily my loving Husband made a special trip to the store to get me bananas, applesauce, tea, soup and even came back with flowers!! Awwww. I however only managed to eat a little bit of applesauce and half a banana before I thew it all up again and never ate any of the rest of it!! Did I mention I was miserable!!

This is how I spent my entire day 🙁

Luckily it was apparently just a 24 hour virus because when I woke up on Sunday it was gone, I felt 100x’s better and even managed to go on a bike ride later in the day. It was beautiful out so I decided to test out my new Garmin GPS watch on our ride. The whole purpose for getting my new watch is for running but I didn’t watch to push my luck since I was just sick, so bike ride it was.

Here we are taking a break at the half way point before heading back home

Monday came and it was back to work and all was as usual. Wednesday we had dentist appointments which I actually have always liked. I love getting my teeth cleaned!! I think it’s because I’ve never had a traumatic experience at the dentist office. I’ve never had to have anything worse then a few fillings done. I mean how can you not like getting your teeth cleaned? They’re so nice, pretty and smooth afterwards. They told me my teeth looked perfect and sent me on my way.
Fridays are always a happy day being the end of the work week and all- They’re even better when you are greeted by a happy puppy in the morning!!
Look at those frog legs!! So Cute!!

Last Friday night we went to the Grand Re-opening of Riverwalk Pizza. It’s this really good pizza joint right on the lake front in downtown Sanford. The remodeled and opened a whole second side of the building with a new bar and all. It looks really great now!! Bonus that Friday is cheat day so I had a very delicious stromboli filled with pepperoni and sausage goodness, while Matt ordered a taco pizza (interesting I know, but it wasn’t bad). We met a bunch of friends up there and the highlight of the night would be that I got to see  Sloanie!! I feel like it’s been so long since the last time I saw here, I was pretty convinced that she was going to be walking already!! haha!!

LOVE!!

Saturday night we met my parents for dinner at this little bistro in downtown Sanford called Cafe Rouge before heading to a play at this small local drama company. My Mom picked this activity and asked us all to go with her. They were doing a play about old stories of the town. We had gone to one of these last year and it was cute, but I guess they must have used up all the good stories last year because this year it was drawn out and BORING! I told my Mom she’s not allowed to be our social events planner anymore!! Haha.

The only thing that save the night was our after play visit to Dairy Queen. Matt had never had DQ before!! Shocking I know!! We went this very old one near downtown Sanford that my parents use to always take us to when we were growing up. Every time I go there I always remember climbing up on the ledge to look in the window to watch them make our ice cream order.
He’s so excited for his Oreo Cheesecake Blizzard!!

My usual Mint Oreo Blizzard! yummy!

Even better was ending the night cuddling with this cutie!
We’re finally getting our backyard fenced in, but first we have to clear some tree branches that are in the was of the fence line. So on last Sunday Matt decided to sign us up for a full day of yard work and brought in reinforcements (aka my Momma!). She was here bright and early at 9 am ready to chop some trees, by some I mean we spent the next 8 hours chopping down tree limbs. At least it was a nice day out and we got to have our usual yard day lunch.
This is good weather for us since we’re still in the 90’s usually

This is a sample of all the stuff that is laying around
our yard since before we owned it

There’s Matt in the middle of our forest that needed trimming

Half way through the day we took a break to head to Cavallari’s for lunch where we got their yummy Prosciutto and Mozzarella sub and ate outside at their tables. We also made a stop off at Home Depot for some supplies.
Matt getting ready to devour his sub lunch

My favorite sub!! So yummy!!

Heading out with our supplies to finish the day

Once we got back from our little side adventure we were ready to finish out the day. We finished piling up the tree limbs and all the other junk from the yard by the road. My Dad arrived to join the fun and put up a fan for us in the kitchen.

Part of my yard work team . . .

Working hard . . .

A look at our street by the end of the day with piles of stuff for pick up!

Before

After

After all of the hard work was complete we opened a bottle of wine, cracked a few beers, I made spaghetti and we had a nice little family dinner!!
