Sushi Dinner!

Matt made me homemade sushi for dinner!!! (but I will get to that in a min!)

Last Tuesday we went over to my parent’s house because they wanted Matt to upgrade their computer and he cleverly said that he would as long as they fed him! Haha. I just benefited from his arrangement and invited my friend Nancy and her adorable son Cayden to join us. She said she wasn’t sure if my Mom would want a toddler at dinner, but if you know my mom she loves to have any and all kiddies around.

Does that look like someone who minds kids?
Since they  live right next to where Matt and I both work, I dropped Lucky off at their house on my way to work. He was so excited to get to go on a car ride and play all day at Grandma’s. We are glad to take him over there because he always come home super exhausted and ready to sleep for days! However the next morning I found him hiding in a dark corner of the laundry room looking so sad and pitiful. I think he was depressed that he wasn’t going to get to go with me in the car and play at Grandma’s. He’s such a little character our little puppy!
So excited to be on the road to Grandma’s

Such a sad face because he has to stay home all day!

On Tuesday I came home to find my sweet Husband making me sushi for dinner!! We discovered this awesome little seafood shop in Lake Mary, Lighthouse Seafood. They are very small, but have tons of stuff and awesome prices. Matt got salmon and tuna for our dinner all for $17! That plus the rice, seaweed and other ingredients maaaaayyyybbeee cost us $30. Such a good deal considering we usually spend at least $60 when we go out to get Sushi. Next time it will be an even better deal now that we have everything we need except the fish.
The final product was awesome!! Matt’s made sushi for us a few time before and every time it gets better and better. The only reason it’s taken so long in between is because we hadn’t been able to find a good place to get the sushi grade fish. Everywhere around us either never carried it or stopped carrying it. So we were so happy to find this new place. We (by “we” I mean, Matt) will definitely be making sushi at home more often!!
How good does that look?? YUM

On Thursday in the mail I received the anxiety jacket I ordered for Lucky. Our cute little pup does not like to be by himself or separated from Mommy and Daddy. He is not happy unless he is in the same room as us, and I call him my “little shadow” because he will follow me from room to room when I’m cleaning, or cooking or even going to the bathroom. My Mom says he has some separation anxiety issues. He also does not like thunderstorms, he gets so worked up and paces around the room and then will hide in the corner of the family room by the couch and won’t come out until it’s over.
So my Mom saw this jacket on Groupon and said we should get it for him, yes I know he’s quite spoiled! I did and it arrived this week. I tried it on him and I think it really does help. He was so calm with it on and just laid on the could looked so peaceful sleeping. It hasn’t rained at all since we got it so I don’t know how well it will work for thunderstorms yet. The package however says it’s guaranteed to work! We shall see . . .

On Friday I came home to find a cute surprise waiting for me from my awesome husband. He said he found it on Amazon and thought of me and had to get it!
If you know me well, you get this!

I had been looking forward to Friday night all week, because 1. it’s cheat dinner day and we were going to order pizza and cheesy bread from Marcos. YUM!! 2. Since we were ordering pizza take out, I didn’t have to get dressed up to go anywhere and could just lounge on the couch with Matt and Lucky and watch a movie. Perfect!!
However, Friday didn’t exactly happen that way. I had already ordered the pizza before heading to work so that all I had to do was pick it up real quick on the way home. Well, when I went on my lunch at work I had a text from Matt saying to cancel the pizza because my Brother and Sister in Law wanted us to meet them at Willow Tree. My first thought was “ugh! really?? I really wanted that pizza!” I sadly called and cancelled it though and after I got home I changed and we headed to downtown Sanford.
Now the Willow Tree is this fabulous German restaurant and the food it great!! So I was happy to go and spend time with them and my parents and have a delicious dinner of Wiener schnitzel and Cheesy spatzel. I was just really really looking forward to Pizza be cause we hadn’t had it in sooooo long. I got over it thought and we will have it next week. We went on to enjoy German food overload and it was delish!!!!

YUMMY!!
After we got home I decided since last week was officially the first day of fall I needed to put up my one and only fall decoration. This cute little scarecrow for the door!!

I almost got some more decorations at Home Depot last week. They had lots of cute fall and Halloween decorations out. There were these cute little full body scarecrows on sticks you could put in your garden for $8. I don’t know why I didn’t pick one up? Oh well maybe this week I’ll get some more stuff and be festive!
Saturday and Sunday found us being quite lazy and just laying around the house. We haven’t done too much lately on the weekends, Matt even said today that we really need to get out more. That’s really shocking coming from him because he’s a huge advocate for laying around, playing his computer games and taking naps after working hard all week.

Lucky’s quite happy we stay home all weekend since he’s alone all day during the week. I caught him mid yawn yesterday. Look at the lizard tongue.

Plus he gets to nap with Daddy! Look at my cute Boys!!

Saturday night I went out to a Girls night for my friend Kim. We first ate at Senor Tequilas in Winter Springs. I got a chicken chimichanga and it was so good! I scarfed it down and we got some delish chimichurros for dessert! Second stop was a quaint little wine bar right down from Senor Tequila’s called Wine Styles. We had some wine, listened to live music and lots of girl talk. It was a great evening!

Dessert!

Wine and Music

After finishing up at the Wine bar I made a quick pit stop by Publix, it’s in the same plaza. I needed to get a few necessities to last us another week before I have to go major grocery shopping. I HATE grocery shopping so I try to get by as long as possible between trips, haha. While there I picked up some Froyo to enjoy with Matt when I got home since usually on one weekend night we will either get Froyo or Italian ice at one of the numerous dessert places that surround out house. I swear there’s about 25 with in a 5 mile radius of us. It’s crazy!!

It wasn’t as good as Menchie’s or Jerimiah’s but it was still a nice treat

Today our air wasn’t working so we had to wait around in our “hot box” until our A/C guy could come check it out. He was doing a big install so it was understandable. We survived and he finally made it by and all is good now. It was a quick fix, switching out the compressor motor or something? IDK but it only took about 10 min tops to fix! How did people ever live without air? Especially in Florida!!

Just because he’s so cute one last pic or our sleeping baby!!

  • Mmm sushi, I can not wait until I can eat it again, I have to satisfy myself with just california rolls for the next 7 months, but its worth it.

I love your dog!! Too cute. How did the jacket work out today?

  • I didn't put the jacket on him during the day yet (even thought that's what it's for!) because I'm scared he'll tear it up while we're gone. We did however use the other night when it was storming and it worked great! Instead of pacing he just laid down and took a nap- Success!
