Happy New Year!!

I know I’m about 2 days late on this, but yesterday I didn’t want to do anything but lay around and relax . Oh and bake a cheesecake for Matt’s birthday today! So before I get started . . .

Ok now that that’s out of the way . . . We usually stay home on New Year’s because we  both spent too many years running around the downtown areas and crowding into clubs and special events with over priced menus and way too many people that it’s much easier and more relaxing to stay home! This year thought we went over to my parents house to hang out and wait for the countdown. There were suppose to be a few other friends coming over, but both of the husbands in the couples got sick. So just on friend and her daughter came to hang out for a few hours.
Matt made sushi and since not as many people came we had extra fish, which he decided to wrap it all in bacon and grill it tonight for his birthday meal. We had a few drinks and sat around the fire pit until I fell asleep on the couch at about 11:15. Matt had to wake me up to get ready for the ball to drop on TV. We toasted with our glasses from our wedding earlier this year. I got that tradition from my parents who have always toasted New Year’s with the glasses from their wedding and I always thought it was such a cute tradition. This was their 35th New Year’s with their glasses and our 1st! Right after our toast we promptly packed up everything we brought over and headed home to bed!

Happy New Year from our Family to Yours!

So obviously with New Year’s come the inevitable resolutions everyone makes each year. This year I came up with a list of 13 in ’13. Some are resolutions and some are just things I want to get done. All are things that are totally doable! I say that now, but check back with me in a year and see how they went!
13 things for 2013

1. Get car detailed and keep it clean – this one I actually already had done on Monday, but the keep it clean is where the resolution comes in.
2. Use gym membership regularly – I think it’s been 2 months or more since my last visit! I will change this starting now!
3. Replace Kitchen Fridge – I’ve replaced pretty much everything in my kitchen since I bought the house 2 years ago and I’ve been saying I want a new fridge for the past 2 years. This year it will happen!
4. Fix up back yard – We finally fenced in out backyard now I just need to fix it up into a place we actually want to hang out in.
5. Go on weekend bike rides – We say every weekend we should get our bikes out and go on a ride down the trail, yet it’s only happened one time!! This year I want to make it a regular activity.
6. Pay off debt – We have actually paid off alot of our debt in the last 2 years so aside from our mortgage and Matt’s car I want to get the rest of it paid off this year.
7. Eat Healthier – We always go through phases of eating healthy for a month or 2 and then we just go back to eating what’s convienent. This year I want to try to keep it healthy all year.
8. Loose 50 lbs – Ok this might sound a little extreme but I think it’s possible if I keep up with resolutions #’s 2 and 7!!
9. Do 1 Charity run per month – I use to do 5k’s and 10k’s all the time through track shack in Orlando but I think the last one was early last year. I want to get back to it because the money raised always goes to a great cause.
10. Complete 1000m this year – My partner in crime and main running partner now lives in NJ, but we came up with a plan to still work on running together. We have made a pact to run 1000 miles this year and for our final run we’re gonna meet somewhere amazing in the US and run it together!
11. Run Full Marathon – I attempted to do a full marathon in early december but due to blistering feet I didn’t finish. This is the year I finally will be able to say I finished
12. Start a Family – This may or may not happen this year. We don’t really have a specific time and we’re great with life as it is, however I am turning 31 this year and would like to get started before I’m 40.
13. Send Christmas Cards – I always think about doing cute Christmas cards and then time slips away from me and it never happens. I’m always sad I didn’t get around to it when I start receiving all the cute cards from people who actually do take the time to send them out.

So there you have it kids! 13 things I’m gonna try my hardest to accomplish this year. Hopefully this time next year I can write a post about how I accomplished them all. How fantastic would that be?? Until then Hope you’re all having a great start to the new year!!
